Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder is a Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from a Jewish family. Ryder also has a half-sister, Sunyata Jubal. Her older sibling is Uria. In the year Ryder was seven, her family relocated from Mendocino County, California. Mendocino County California. There they didn't have electricity. Ryder read a lot due to the lack of television. Ryder, then 12, took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983.
